Bright, little garden miracles! A wonderfully cheerful flower arises from the calendula seeds! The flowers are bright little garden miracles that have healing properties, are edible, draws in winged pollinators, native bees, while repelling pests. The blossoms can be eaten fresh in salads or added to rice, add a little honey to steeped calendula petals for a nurturing, herbal tea. Direct sow the seeds in early autumn in Zones 8-10 - about 1/4" deep. Spacing 6"-18" apart. In colder climates, sow in spring after danger of frost.
Germination: about 7 days
Flowers appear: 6-8 weeks later
Calendula is a flowering herb, an annual, but will readily reseed itself. Only occasional watering needed once established.
